If the ear responds to this nicely, then this treatment attains success providing relief to the sufferer. Sounds other than tap water that can produce the same effect are natural sounds like rainfall,ocean, waves, humming, chants, wind sounds etc. These sounds are loud enough to pull attention and provide relief from the ringing sound. But in this the sound needs to go to both the ears otherwise the patient will feel as though the ringing sound has shifted to the other ear. It is observed that tinnitus is sometimes caused as an outcome of high blood pressure and anemia.

There can be different reasons in different people. If tinnitus is caused because of this, then these reasons have to be determined and treated effectively, then only treatment of tinnitus will be successful. Once this is treated tinnitus is treated automatically. Therefore the reason that has caused the problem should be determined carefully in order to attain success in treatment of tinnitus.The purpose behind this is to divert the attention of the person to these loud sounds so that the person hears these sounds instead of the ringing in ear.
